Here are some tips to boost your chances of earning an athletic scholarship for college.

Look to DIII
While most high school athletes dream of earning a full ride to a major Division I sports program, these scholarships are few and far between. However, the news source recommends investigating opportunities to play at a Division III school. While DIII school don't award traditional scholarships, you may be able to secure merit-based financial aid to reduce the cost of tuition.

Keep track of your stats
As most players have to sell themselves to college programs by sending information about their performance, Yahoo recommends keeping track of your statistics throughout your high school sports career. By having firm numbers about your record, you can submit these figures when writing to coaches and scouts.

Online videos
Building off of keeping track of your stats, you should also compile a video of your best games and efforts for college sports programs to view, according to U.S. News & World Report. You can easily post these videos online for coaches to access as you apply to different schools.
