In a post many students currently undergoing the process of applying to college may be able to relate to, New York Times blogger Sush Krishnamoorthy likened the process of filling out her Stanford application to game a Tetris. No matter how perfectly all the pieces fit when she envisions the ideal scenario in her mind, she can only hope that she's predicted all the variables.

"I’m a relatively ordinary international student who needs nearly full financial aid," she wrote. Still, she's hopeful, considering the university offered her a significant amount of financial aid for college when it offered her admission to their summer school program.

In light of how daunting the process of filling out colleges applications can be, WBFN offers some tips for college hopefuls to make the experience a bit easier for them, and improve their chances of acceptance. The source says that students should start attempting to develop their time management skills as easily as their freshman year of high school and participate in an extracurricular activity or two. Most importantly, students should strive to fill out all their applications the summer before senior year begins. That way, they won't have to split their attention between applying for college and their classwork.
