Some foundations provide nursing scholarships

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of jobs available in the field of nursing are expected to grow by more than 25 percent by 2020. The agency considers that faster than average, and attributes the expected increase in demand for nurses to the aging baby boomer generation, which will require more assistance as they enter their twilight years.
For those considering a career in nursing, numerous programs provide financial aid for school designed to train nurses. The Ohio Nurses Foundation, for one example, provides several scholarships for college, including the Deborah Hague Memorial Scholarship for nurses studying in a graduate program. In addition, the organization offers the Mary Beth Hayward Scholarship for teaching nurses and the Traditional Nursing Student Scholarship for students currently lacking a degree.
