Simon Youth Foundation to accept scholarship applications from at-risk students
January 19, 2012
Although attending college might be easy for those who come from financially-stable families, not all graduating high school students have the money to pay for a higher education. Individuals who have dreams of earning a degree might see their goals hindered by a lack of funds.
College grants and scholarships are helping more people resolve this issue and attend the school of their choice. Recently, the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) announced that it is now accepting applications for those interested in earning scholarships, according to Boston.com. Individuals have until March 1 to apply, and may qualify if they attend an at-risk high school.
"Our mission is to ignite hope for a brighter future in students, and our foundation is proud to partner with Burlington Mall to award scholarships that will remove some of the financial obstacles that would otherwise prevent a student from achieving the dream of a college education," J. Michael Durnil, president and CEO of SYF, told the news source."
Individuals who apply for college grants and scholarships can potentially reduce their debt after graduation. These financial resources can curb the cost of everything from tuition to housing.
