Bob Fryer Memorial Scholarship applications now being accepted

When it comes to finding money for college, there's no easier way to curb the cost of tuition than through scholarships. College scholarships can effectively reduce expenses ranging from course fees to textbooks. Furthermore, they don't have to be repaid over time, unlike student loans.
Recently, The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania announced that it will be taking applications for the annual Bob Fryer Memorial Scholarship, dedicated to recognizing the work of aspiring journalists. This will be the seventh time that scholarship has been offered to individuals who have been enrolled in an accredited college or university for at least two years.
The winner receives $5,000 to put toward his or her college education. Applicants will be able to find out if they won the award when it's given out in May 2013 at the Golden Quills Awards Dinner. The deadline is January 14, 2013.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that those with a bachelor's degree made approximately $1,053 weekly compared to the $638 that individuals holding a high school diploma took home every week. A college education can substantially increase the amount of money you earn on a regular basis.
