January 30, 2012

Individuals who have a knowledge of what it takes to stay in shape and maintain a healthy level of fitness might want to consider entering the workforce as an athletic trainer. This field is growing quickly, meaning more job opportunities are popping up for prospective workers.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that by 2018, approximately 22,000 people will be employed in this field compared to the 16,300 working in this sector in 2008. The notable increase is a good sign for individuals who want to pursue this career and make a living doing something they love.

However, many athletic trainer positions require some form of higher education. In order to obtain this, it may be necessary for individuals to enroll in a postsecondary institution to get the necessary training and degree.

College grants and scholarships can help reduce the cost of tuition and fees associated with college. These financial resources are also more ideal than education loans because they do not have to be repaid over time. With a degree, individuals can increase their chances of finding a high-salary job in the field of athletic training.
