A few factors that could reduce the price of your prospective college

For those students who are on a budget but would still like to get a quality education, there are a few things to look for when trying to find the perfect four-year college. While researching college scholarships and grants is a huge priority, there are a few factors to look for in a potential college that could drastically reduce a student's bottom line.
If a state school is an option, this should be at the top of the cost-conscious students' list. These institutions are far less pricey than private colleges if the student lives in-state, while still offering the same quality of education as other more renowned schools.
Transportation is another determinant where costs can add up quickly. If a student can bike or walk to class instead of commuting, this could reduce expenses over the course of a student's stay.
Lastly, look for a school that's close to home. While it may not be the ideal situation, being able to go home to do a load of laundry or have a bite to eat can help a budget-conscious student avoid the prospect of long-term debt to hit the ground running once he's completed his program.
