Almost $7,000 awarded to accounting scholar

According to the Rapid City Journal, a South Dakota number crunching wiz has received a significant amount of money for college due to her passion for accounting.
The South Dakota Certified Public Accountants Society (CPA) awarded Black Hills State University senior Elise Foltz $6,800 in financial aid for school. In part, this was due to the fact that she's almost done with the 150 hours of of accounting necessary to qualify for the CPA exam, according to the news source.…

The Zonta Club - an international group of executives and working people advocating for the advancement of women - has been known to provide college scholarships for single mothers, according to an article from GazetteXtra.
The online news provider points to a branch of the Zonta Club based in Janesville Wisconsin, which gave $5,000 in financial aid for single mothers to a pair of successful applicants from the Rock County community.…

Scout organizations provide scholarship opportunities

While many community organizations offer money for college, those interested in being awarded financial aid for school may want to consider looking into some of the old standbys.
For example, a group that was once a source of merit badges, camping trips and delicious cookies could be a source of money for college.
A report from the Thousand Oaks Acorn showed that the National Eagle Scout Association provides some qualifying students with financial aid for college.  The news provider said that a pair of eagle scouts - Aaron Zuckerman and Jacob Kohlhepp - have been award $3,000 scholarships from the organization, which received more than 2,500 scholarship applications from former scouts who had risen to the Boy Scouts's highest rank.…

According to an article appearing in the Kent Reporter, three scholarships amounting to more than $2,000 in financial aid for single mothers each will be given to unemployed unmarried moms looking to attend Blossom Nursing Assistant Training School in Kent, Washington.
