Licensed nurses receive scholarships to further careers

Many people think that going back to school isn't an option once they have found a job and started a family, but it isn't uncommon for adults to earn a degree later in life to further their careers. Often, financial resources can be easily found through the government or companies looking to help academically-motivated individuals.
Recently, the National Education Alliance awarded a series of scholarships to registered nurses with Extendicare. The scholarships, totaling around $27,000, are aimed at helping professional nurses move up the career ladder by earning a higher education.
"Providing employees with the opportunity to enhance their skills, and advance their careers is part of our commitment to helping people live better. We thank the National Education Alliance for making these scholarships available to our employees," said Joseph Piccione, Director of Training and Organizational Development for Extendicare.
College grants and scholarships are valuable to high school students and working adults alike. These financial resources can help pay for everything from housing to tuition, making them a viable option in comparison to education loans, which need to be repaid.
