Four things you must do in college
September 4, 2012
Every college student has four years to pack as much into his or her mind as possible before heading out into the world. While some will head on to graduate school, others will enter the workforce and start making their way up the occupational ladder. No matter your plans, be sure to do these four things before you earn your bachelor's degree.
1. Secure an internship for one summer. Internships not only give you a glimpse into the working world and sharpen your skills in an area of study, but give you a great résumé listing as well.
2. Spend time abroad or study at another college. Get outside the bubble of your school. Studying in a foreign country is a great opportunity, but if that's not available to you, try to see if you can enroll in or even audit a class at another college.
3. Learn to cook. This is essential for young men and women once they leave the dining halls behind.
4. Seek out scholarships. It's never too late to seek out scholarship opportunities. Help lessen your debt and improve your quality of life post graduation by applying for scholarships.
