December 17, 2012
Most California-area college students likely think of Disneyland as either a place where they had a magic vacation during their childhood years, or a place they wish their parents had taken them. However, let it be known that Disneyland also intends to be a source of money for college for 10 Orange County high school seniors.
A report from Corona Del Mar Today explains that qualifying students will need to be graduating from a public, private or charter school at the end of the 2013 semester, and have earned at grade point average of at least 3.0. In addition, to fulfill the requirements for applying for this financial aid for college package of $7,500, students will need to have had logged at least 150 hours of community service since September of 2009.
Although this is the first year it's doling out scholarship money to 10 students, the Disneyland Resort Scholarship Program has been helping out Orange County high school seniors with scholarship programs since 2006, according to the organization's website.
