The best places to look for part-time jobs while in school

One of the best ways to supplement your meager allowance during college is with a part-time job. Very few college students are rolling in spare cash during their four years of higher education, and considering the heavy cost of tuition (not to mention room and board) most extra pennies are going into the college fund. If you're looking to cut back on student loans, help out with your book costs or maybe just want a little extra spending money for an afternoon movie or night out at the college bar, consider a few of these great part-time jobs.
1. Campus library. Unlike your average store chain, libraries are not yet fully automated. People still scan books and check your school ID, and if you can get that job, you're sure to be sitting pretty. The best working hours will likely be early morning or late night, when traffic is low and you can get extra homework done.
2. Dining services. Library too quiet for you? If you're someone who likes to chat, blast music or just generally relax, a dining services position like short order chef might be the better option for you.
3. Wait tables in town. Get off campus and make some local friends by working at a nearby restaurant. Waiting and bussing tables is a fantastic way to rake in a lot of cash in tips, but be ready for irregular hours. You should also make sure you're the type who can turn on the charm even after a night of term papers.
4. Movie theater attendant. Studying film by any chance? If so, you're sure to feel right at home tearing tickets at the local cinema. The perks of free shows and discount tickets will be well worth it.
5. Bartender. So long as you're of age for your state, this is an excellent way to pull in a lot of money in a short time. While you may have to take a bartending class, it's a useful skill that's sure to come in handy down the road. Be amiable, lend customers an ear, know how to pour a beer and watch as the tips flow in.
