Ohio scholarship to benefit those interested in manufacturing programs

It can be difficult to attend college if you don't have the financial means to pay for tuition. However, more sponsors are now offering scholarships to students who aspire to earn a degree from a postsecondary institution.

For the fifth year in a row, the Cleveland Cavaliers have announced that they will be partnering with Majestic Steel to provide scholarships to individuals who are interested in enrolling in a manufacturing program. Four recipients will receive $2,000 to put toward their college education at one of three community colleges in the Northeast Ohio region.

"A strong manufacturing base is vital in maintaining the economic viability of Northeast Ohio, and the Majestic Steel USA - Cleveland Cavaliers scholarship program is one way in which we can invest in a bright manufacturing future for our community," said Tom Innis, Majestic Steel's director of corporate relations.

College grants and scholarships are an optimal form of funding because unlike education loans, they do not have to be repaid over time and do not put students in debt. Individuals who want to curb the cost of tuition can apply for grants and scholarships prior to enrolling in a postsecondary institution.
