If you're interested in earning a degree and finding a job that can provide you with a steady income, you might want to look into career fields that have shown promising growth. By honing in on an industry that has seen an increase in job opportunities, you can improve your chances of finding a position once you graduate from college.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in 2010, the number of individuals working as veterinary technicians was 79,600. By 2018, this amount is projected to grow to 108,100 people. Individuals who have a love of animals and want to work in this fast-paced field might want to specialize in veterinary technology in college.

If you want to pursue a career in this industry but lack the funds to attend a postsecondary institution, you might want to think about applying for college grants and scholarships. These financial resources can be found through colleges and private businesses. College grants and scholarships are ideal because unlike education loans, they do not have to be repaid over time. This means less debt for individuals once they graduate from college.
